The Select Board recorded that no bids were received for the roadside mowing contract. Highway Foreman Shane Heath told the board he obtained a quote from Pete's Equipment in Morrisville to rent a tractor and mower for $4,900 for a 40-hour week and estimated the town would need about two weeks to complete the mowing. Heath warned the vendor is in high demand and booked through September.
Select Board member Denis Royer II said he preferred the town perform the mowing with its own crew so it would be done to town standards. The town had budgeted $12,000 for roadside mowing; Shane said he will attend an equipment show and report back to the board with other options.
