Resident raises safety concern over tires encroaching on Underpass Road; sheriff to send removal notice

Town Clerk Patti McClure said the Sheriff's Department will deliver a certified letter from the town that gives the property owner 30 days to remove the tires or face a $25.00 per day fine. The transcript reports: “Patti said the Sheriff’s Department will deliver a certified letter from the town stating he has 30 days to remove the tires or be fined $25.00 a day.” The board said it will also consult Logan from the state for ideas, and noted Vermont state agencies had not returned calls to board members.
Highway Foreman Shane Heath separately said he would remove snow at the intersection of Calendar Brook Road and Burke Road to improve sightlines. The town has not yet recorded a removal or fine in the meeting record; the certified-letter step was the action described.
