Committee chairs summarized several committee recommendations and grant items for the full board. The water and sewer committee recommended surveying Stonehill Lane residents to gauge interest in a 1.2-mile water extension; the public-safety committee reported a Motorola radio-project change order that reduced the contract price by $15,100 and recommended approval; the EWP (Emergency Watershed Protection) program has a large $8,000,000 project for which Terra Tech Engineers (Grundy) was recommended by committee to negotiate a contract; and a February-flood EWP award estimate of $341,000 was presented with a 25% local-match requirement that could be satisfied with donated labor or in-kind contributions in part. A Department of Fire PPE grant of $100,000 to buy turnout gear for volunteer stations was also recommended for acceptance.
Committee motions and recommendations were presented as unanimous committee recommendations; the board recorded motions and seconds and advanced the items per committee guidance. Several items were marked "information only" where no final board action was required during the meeting.
The board also considered a draft moral-obligation resolution to support a $1.4 million financing package for a town (identified in packet materials) pending final documentation; the chair asked for authorization to execute related documents subject to review.
