Village files Grant County Road Aid application; FEMA damage assessment submitted for Aug. storm
Summary

President McLimans said the Village filed a Grant County Road Aid application specifying culvert work at First Street & County Road A and Fourth Street & State Hwy 35; the maximum request amount was $2,000. McLimans emphasized the need to address especially the First Street culvert but noted awards are not automatic and will be made next year.
Separately, the Board reviewed submission of a FEMA Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) for damage from the Aug. 8–9, 2025 weather event. The PDA reported that the village lost power and the wastewater treatment plant received about seven inches of rain; reported damages totaled approximately $6,000 (generator issues, Fourth Street drainage tile problems, and park flooding with ditch erosion). Emergency Management staff Jason Wagner and Steve Braun confirmed the county submission was satisfactory and that FEMA review would compare before-and-after photos.
