The Village Board authorized a radar speed-sign traffic study on Mill Street after a police report noted heavy traffic volumes and speeding. President Robert McLimans said Officer Small reported roughly 600–700 vehicles per day on Mill Street. Trustees voted unanimously to place the village radar sign near the Patch Grove entrance and collect data for a couple of weeks to capture volumes and speeds in both directions.
Trustees discussed possible additional traffic-calming measures, including installing more stop signs on approaches where vehicles enter the village at 45–65 miles per hour despite the 25-mph limit. The study is intended to provide empirical data to guide any sign changes or stop-sign installations. Trustee Scott Daentl moved the study authorization and Trustee Al Mergen seconded; the motion carried with all present in favor.
