During a public hearing that opened at 6:30 p.m., the Sperry Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve Rezoning Application Z-2026-01, which would change the west half of the parcel at 115 N. Highway 11 from Commercial Shopping (CS) to Commercial General (CG). The planning commission had recommended approval on Feb. 5, 2026 by a 3–1 vote.
Mayor Robert Morton and Trustee Patrick McCotter led the agenda item; the approval was made "pending a correction of the legal description" listed in the application. Immediately afterward, discussion on Ordinance No. 2026-01 (the formal ordinance to change zoning) was tabled by Mayor Morton until the legal description is corrected, so the ordinance was not adopted at the meeting.
The parcel is listed in the minutes as Tulsa County Assessor parcel R91213-12-13-36880 and the minutes note planning-commission concern about allowable uses in Commercial General zoning given proximity to a nearby church. No dates were given for the ordinance rehearing.
