Sperry officials report progress on ditching, storm sirens, stormwater grant and sidewalks

During the Dec. 11, 2025 meeting Town Administrator Rick Rumsey updated trustees on several public‑works and grant matters. He said Tulsa County is working on ditching, new storm sirens have been installed and are awaiting electrical connection, and an earlier beaver dam removal on property west of the trail has already been rebuilt. Rumsey also said the town may take old storm sirens down, declare them surplus and donate them to other communities.
Rumsey said he will meet with an engineer on Dec. 15, 2025 regarding an OWRB storm water improvement grant. He also described a potential INCOG‑REAP transportation grant and the town's plan to work with Tulsa County on paving if awarded; an engineer will prepare bid sheets for Main Street sidewalk improvements. Debra Burch separately noted the town may be awarded a CDBG grant from INCOG in June 2026 and said officials should begin considering candidate projects.
