Staff representing the Office of Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell provided a brief report in his absence.
The office said Supervisor Gorell was unable to attend and sent his regrets because his wife recently underwent a medical procedure and "she is recovering well." The report noted that Gorell was recently selected as Chair of the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Staff also described a recent bike safety event hosted by the Supervisor, previewed a permitting reform package expected to return to the Board in March, and said the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy approved more than $650,000 for fire-prevention projects in East County.
Council members accepted the update and continued with liaison and committee reports and other agenda items.
