Residents press MAC over tree removal, signage and blocked access at meeting

Other speakers raised related concerns: Joel Goldes asked whether the removed tree was native and if it posed a fire hazard; Brian Mattson asked Code Enforcement to review what he described as excessive signage for a 24-hour nail shop at Kanan and Lindero Canyon and leasing signs at the corner; RL Miller raised concerns that locked gates on Bishop Gates Road could restrict fire-personnel access and that there is standing water at Kanan and Deerhill.
MAC members and staff indicated follow-up steps: Public Works inspected the standing water and confirmed the location falls under Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District jurisdiction; Santucci noted the gate issue is tracked on the tickler log and said the Fire Department holds a key to the locked gate.
