Rancho Simi board member updates Oak Park on Medea Creek work and $3 million grant

Lundstrom announced a $3 million grant awarded for work along Medea Creek, funded by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and CAL FIRE, and described a temporary easement with the Ventura County Watershed Protection District "The easement term will be five years, with an option to extend an additional five years," the minutes record. He added that Watershed Protection will fund the initial five-year monitoring work and that data will be made publicly available.
Lundstrom also noted that the District adopted its budget calendar and held Finance Committee meetings in Oak Park; he announced formation of a new Oak Park Committee intended to serve as a bridge between Rancho Simi and Oak Park residents. Councilmembers thanked him for local meetings and asked that the MAC's Long-Range Medea Creek Plan be considered during Phase 2 planning; Lundstrom confirmed coordination among Rancho Simi, Public Works, Watershed Protection, and Friends of Oak Park.
