Bloomington board backs $500K–$750K plan to upgrade wastewater plant, defers added office space

Fure recommended three priority upgrades: motor control center improvements, replacing chlorination with a UV disinfection system, and blower upgrades. The board agreed those items should come first given limited parking and budget constraints. Estimates discussed during the meeting put the three items at roughly $500,000 to $750,000, with potential grant funding available for portions of the work.
Board members said operational reliability and regulatory compliance took precedence over building additional office areas included in earlier designs. After discussion on funding options and priorities, the board approved a motion to proceed with a facility plan focused on the three prioritized items to prepare for grant applications and detailed design work.
