Johnston said a wireless microphone option would substantially raise the cost—"something like $12,000.00 to $14,000.00"—and explained tradeoffs between budget and end‑user simplicity. Commissioners asked about acoustics, camera coverage (PTZ capability), speakers for public areas, and appearance; the vendor said the proposed installation would tidy cabling, allow for added cameras, and include speaker routing so the public can hear proceedings. No representative from the other quoted vendor attended; commissioners indicated they were prepared to vote on the item at the next meeting.
