Kayleen Kidwell presented the FY2027 extension services agreement with Montana State University and described current 4‑H activity in the county.
"Right now we are at ninety-four," Kidwell said when asked about enrollment, and added that she was preparing for the Deer Lodge Fair, scheduled for August 8–16, 2026. County CEO Bill Everett praised Kidwell’s work, calling her "absolutely phenomenal" and noting the program’s emphasis on children and community fit.
Kidwell said the agreement is the usual annual contract and that the county’s support will retain extension staffing and programming. Commissioners asked a brief set of clarifying questions and heard no public comment on the item during the work session.
