Family Promise: ESG funds would expand case management, housing assistance

After the meeting, a Family Promise representative clarified how Emergency Solutions Grant funding would be used if awarded.
Kathy Lam described ESG as "monies to pay for case management, rental assistance, housing assistance, and basically to run our shelter." She said the grant is "very competitive," and that success would allow the nonprofit to bring on a full-time case manager, a secondary full-time case manager and potentially expand shelter capacity.
Lam reiterated program needs: operational costs, additional case management capacity, and help for callers who are not currently sheltered but need services to remain in their homes. She emphasized that the funding would expand Family Promise's ability to move families into housing more expediently when rental units become available.
No additional applicants were announced during the hearing; Family Promise remains the only entity recorded as submitting a letter of intent by the clerk's stated deadline.
