City Street Superintendent Carrie Hofford told the council that staff had followed the operational process to add snow routes but had missed updating the corresponding ordinance. The amendment to chapter 5 updates the municipal code to reflect the city's existing emergency snow-route map.
"We just missed the step of updating an ordinance," Hofford said, and asked that the ordinance be updated to match the street maps. Councilman Jen Jensen moved to suspend the rules and advance Ordinance 57-31 to third and final reading the same night; Councilman Bond seconded the motion and the ordinance was adopted 7'to'0 on final reading.
The ordinance record states it amends Chapter 5, Section 5-1001 of the Fremont municipal code to provide for appeals, severability and an effective date. Council members did not request additional public comment before voting.
