At the July 7 special meeting the Regional School District No. 17 board set the referendum voting hours for the July 8 budget vote to run from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Moderator Joanne Nesti moved and Robin Duffield seconded the motion "to set the voting hours of the referendum on the budget from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM pursuant to Section 10-51 of the Connecticut General Statutes as amended by Public Act 94-245 and 7-7 of the Connecticut General Statutes." The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
The Legal Call and the motion cite the statutory authority that governs referendum hours; the board also noted that copies of the proposed budget are available at the superintendent's office, on the district website and at the town clerks' offices for Haddam and Killingworth.
