Bristow Hospital Authority seeks proposals for new operator after Carrus indicates sale

City Attorney Bethanne Childs told the Bristow Hospital Authority on Aug. 18 that she had spoken with Jon Rains of Carrus Lakeside Hospital and that Rains "had told the hospital staff that the business was for sale." Childs said the city, which owns the hospital building, will need to give Carrus six months' notice to terminate the operator contract if the Authority pursues a change of provider.
Trustee Jeff Roberts moved and Trustee Judd Johns seconded a motion to accept proposals for potential new hospital operators, considering information provided by Carrus Lakeside Hospital, LLC. The board approved the motion by roll call, and set a two-week deadline for submissions: Sept. 2, 2025. Childs told trustees she believes negotiations with any interested provider can be "amicable and professional."
