Applicant refiles as R2; Parowan commission to hold public hearing Aug. 5

Staff told the commission that a previously considered R3 rezone application returning to the city has been resubmitted as an R2 request. City attorney guidance during the earlier processing prevented the commission from approving a different zoning than the noticed application; the applicant has now filed for the noticed R2 zoning and staff will repost notices in accordance with state and local rules.
"On August 5, we will have a public hearing on that, and we will have it posted. We're gonna have to send out mailers again. We're gonna have to do the whole deal all again to be consistent with state code and our code," staff said. The commission was advised to expect similar materials at the next meeting and that the item will move on to the city council with the commission's recommendation after the hearing.
