Auditor/Treasurer Carolyn Rempel told the board she had met with a certified real estate representative from the Mankato MnDOT office about a temporary easement for the corner of the county's 210 10th Street office building (parcel 53). Rempel said the easement would allow MnDOT access to traffic lights and to make any ADA‑compliant changes necessary and that the certified appraised amount offered was $900. The board unanimously authorized the Board Chair and the Auditor/Treasurer to sign and grant the temporary easement for highway purposes, effective until Dec. 1, 2030.
The easement covers access and construction to support MnDOT highway/traffic infrastructure adjacent to the county office building; the minutes do not record additional compensation or conditions beyond the appraised amount and expiration date.
