Alex Schultz, Planning & Zoning Technician, briefed the board on a Conditional Use Permit matter involving Revolve Labs. Commissioner Donna Gravley moved and Commissioner Tom Appel seconded a motion directing Schultz to draft a moratorium on all cryptocurrency mining operations in Cottonwood County pending the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) conclusion; the motion carried by unanimous vote.
Separately, the board approved a 60‑day extension of Revolve Labs’ conditional use permit (motion by Commissioner Kevin Stevens; second by Commissioner Tom Appel). Both actions were recorded as unanimous and will be implemented through the Planning & Zoning office, which Schultz was directed to coordinate with county counsel as needed.
