Board reviews Traffic Calming Assessment; radar signs to arrive in February

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed the draft Traffic Calming Assessment 2025 report and outlined Tier 1 and Tier 2 strategies aimed at reducing speeds across the community. Krebs said Mr. Conway had begun education-based road, bike and golf-cart safety work, and asked board members to identify any additional areas of concern for the report update.
Krebs told the board that "Three permanent and one mobile speed radar signs will be delivered throughout the property the first week in February," and reported speeding violations have since decreased. The board discussed additional measures such as installing "Do not pass golf cart" signs at the front entrance and crosswalks and coordination with Pelican Sound, which is considering bylaw changes for traffic violation terms. Eric Long requested that Page 9 of the report be updated to include the Traffic Study conclusion before distribution to residents.
