CDD to participate in Pelican Sound Safeguard Panel objectives on mitigation and street safety

Chair Schultz said the CDD will join Pelican Sound’s Safeguard Panel on Objective 2 (natural disaster mitigation) with Mr. Merrill representing the CDD and Objective 4 (street safety) with Mr. Twombly as the representative; staff will report back after the Panel's first meeting in December.
Under Supervisors' Requests, Chair Bob Schultz said Pelican Sound leadership organized a Safeguard Panel and the River Ridge CDD will participate on specific objectives: Objective 2 (safeguarding the community from natural-disaster impacts), represented by Supervisor Keith Merrill, and Objective 4 (improving street safety), represented by Supervisor Robert Twombly. District staff will track the Panel’s first meeting and provide an update to the Board.
Operations Manager Eric Long said he had emailed communities an updated Action Plan of seven objectives, reviewed other objectives and panel members, and responded to questions about storm surges above 15 feet and potential flooding of the CDD. He will provide a status update on the Panel's first meeting, scheduled in December.
