Faith Murray of the city's recreation department told the council the month will highlight existing programs and community partners and invited residents to attend calendar events open to the public. "We are extremely honored to get this recognition for Parks and Recreation," Murray said, noting the department’s effort to show the positive changes programs bring to the city. Council members thanked the parks team and posed for a group photo following the presentation.
