River Ridge CDD accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman and solicits applicants

The River Ridge Community Development District accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term through Nov. 2026) on Aug. 27, 2024. Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and, on a motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly, the resignation was accepted unanimously.
Board members discussed the appointment process to fill the unexpired term. The Board consensus was for Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA Manager to e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and to ask interested candidates to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. The appointment will be made, not elected, and Mrs. Adams said she will include any submitted resumes on the next agenda.
The Board also reviewed statutory filing and ethics training materials that will be provided to any incoming appointee.
