Darien SD 61 board adopts 2025 tax-levy resolutions, including special-education levy

Karen Buckels, board president, moved the board to approve a Resolution Authorizing and Directing Final Aggregate Tax Levy Year 2025 after a presentation on the levy by district staff. "Mrs. Buckels moved the BOE to approve the Resolution Authorizing and Directing Final Aggregate Tax Levy Year 2025 as presented. Motioned by Katherine Fujiura; seconded by Allyson Renell," the minutes record. The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Frank Brendlinger provided the tax-levy presentation and the board also approved a separate Resolution Levying a Special Tax for Special Education Purposes and adopted a Certificate of Tax Levy for 2025. Roll-call votes for each resolution recorded ayes from Allyson Renell, Travis Myers, Dana Pavlu, Anthony Ramos, Gabriela Ceferin, Katherine Fujiura and Karen Buckels, with no nays. The board did not record debate that amended the levy text during the meeting. The board indicated the levy will be processed according to the adopted resolutions.
