Brian Dominick Early Childhood Center design complete; CCS reports $52,300 sunshade proposal

Gabriel Alvarez of CCS International told the board the building design for the Brian Dominick Early Childhood Center is complete and that foundation and underground utility work is underway. He said coordination with ComEd continues for utility relocations and that a job-site camera with live feed had been installed on May 7, 2026.
Alvarez presented a proposal in the amount of $52.3K for sunshade structures and said the cost was accounted for within the project budget, yielding no net change to the overall project total. He also briefed the board on ongoing HVAC retro-commissioning at Sherlock School and completion of fire-damage remediation at Lincoln in adjacent rooms, with renovation scheduled to start June 15, 2026.
Board members had no follow-up questions during the report. The construction report and capital-planning updates were placed on file.
