Providers, peers and lived experience highlighted as core to Clackamas Recovery Campus

Speakers from provider organizations and peer-support groups described how the Recovery Campus will operate and why lived experience and peers matter to recovery outcomes.
Devarshi Bajpai, chief executive officer of Fora Health, said the provider partnership will bring trauma-informed facility design and on-site residential treatment so residents do not have to enter care through the criminal-justice system. "Until now, the only way to get residential treatment in Clackamas County was to go to jail and to be a high risk offender," Bajpai said, explaining the provider rationale for on-site transitional housing and comprehensive services.
Beau Brinson, executive director of Oregon ReCovers and a certified recovery mentor, described his own experience and the role of peer support: "peer support really helped save my life," he said. Brinson and other speakers said peers will help residents navigate the county's network of resources and provide low-barrier, lived-experience guidance alongside clinicians.
Fora Health's CEO described the broader service package — withdrawal management, residential treatment, job-skills and life-skills training — and said the facility's trauma-informed design aims to make people feel safe when they arrive for care.
