During public comment at the May 12 Komarek School District 94 board meeting, a representative of the NREA and district families addressed the board.
"The NREA thanks the School Board for their time and service," Mrs. Albores said, urging that contract negotiations move forward; she shared letters with the board as recommended by Kelly Will. Following that, Mrs. Maria Cardona thanked teachers for their efforts and singled out several staff members — Mrs. Vasquez, Mr. Dan Moffett and Mr. Chris Bedalow — for support with musical, band recordings and academic competitions, saying, "It shows how much they care."
The comments were part of a public-comment period; the minutes record the remarks and letters but do not show any board response or immediate action on the negotiations.
