The Komarek School District 94 Board of Education approved three personnel actions at its May 12 meeting.
A motion by President Chris Waas, seconded by Kelly Will, approved the hiring of Ms. Colleen Shea as a speech‑language pathologist for the 2026–27 school year at an annual salary of no less than $57,596; the minutes note that the starting salary is dependent on the NREA teacher contract currently under negotiation. The board also accepted the resignation of Mrs. Patrice Blackburn, Komarek School speech‑language pathologist, and approved a maternity leave for Ms. Keeley Scalise beginning August 24, 2026, under board policies 5:185 (Family Medical Leave) and 5:250 (Leave of Absence). Each personnel motion passed by roll call vote: Yes — Obrock, Waas, Stevens, Will; Absent — Arango, Merrill, Neumann (4–0).
The motions were procedural personnel actions taken in open session; the board later moved to executive session to discuss additional personnel and student matters.
