The Komarek School District 94 Board of Education on April 14 approved bills payable for April 2026 of $231,509.22 on a 6–0 roll call vote. President Chris Waas moved the motion, which Melissa Obrock seconded; Board members Willie Merrill, Holly Neumann, Melissa Obrock, Chris Waas, Suzy Stevens and Kelly Will voted yes (Monica Arango was absent).
Mr. Waas read the March 2026 income statement to the board: "Revenue - $1,710,487 Expenditures - $831,945." He also read multiple fund balances and a total fund balance of $2,634,512. Business Coordinator Mike Pustelnik and Superintendent Dr. Todd Fitzgerald will bring more detailed budget projections to the board in coming months as the administration and business office refine estimated revenues and expenditures for the 2026–2027 budget cycle. The minutes list several individual fund balances; amounts for the Capital Projects and Life Safety lines are unclear in the record and are noted as such in the board packet.
Next steps: the finance committee will continue work on the preliminary budget schedule and bring recommended adjustments to a future board meeting.
