Committee hears updates on gym safety padding, railroad fencing, and building automation upgrades

Dr. Douglas Wildes reported that the district completed safety improvements in the main gym, replacing and extending wall padding under basketball hoops and padding an exposed beam area at an approximate cost of $17,000.
He also updated the committee on a railroad fencing project: administration met April 9 with Village of Bensenville representatives, STR Architects and project engineers to prepare bid specifications and IDOT-required structural drawings; the Village and STR submitted documentation to IDOT and the district hopes installation will be completed by the end of the summer. Wildes noted completion earlier this year of Building Automation System upgrades by Interactive Building Solutions, which updated software and hardware for HVAC controls to improve energy efficiency. The Finance/Facilities Committee adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
