District reviews $2.8M solar and energy-efficiency proposal with $1.1M rebate estimate

"The revised project estimate had decreased to approximately $2.8 million and the District could receive an estimated $1.1 million rebate along with projected annual energy savings of approximately $215,000," Dr. Wildes said, while noting the committee asked Honeywell for a more detailed, transparent financial presentation showing costs, rebates and long-term return on investment. Board members raised concerns about roof replacement timing and noted the project may need to be completed over multiple years as roofs are replaced.
