CSBO outlines Health/Life Safety survey amendment plan, solicits competitive quotes

Dr. Douglas Wildes, the district's chief school business official, told the committee the administration has begun gathering quotes from licensed architectural and engineering firms to complete the State-required Health/Life Safety Survey amendment plan.
"The District's goal is to seek competitive pricing and recommendations by exploring multiple firms rather than automatically moving forward with one provider," Dr. Wildes said. He noted that STR has provided the lowest quote thus far due to its familiarity with district facilities, but emphasized that hiring a survey firm would not guarantee the same company would perform future construction or improvement work connected to the survey findings.
Wildes said once the survey is completed and approved by the Board and the State, the district would separately request competitive bids for any recommended construction work. Board members discussed ensuring transparency and soliciting multiple bids before proceeding.
