Students honored; administrators report on tests, events and enrollment

The board recognized four Students of the Month for April 2026—Elise Ator, Evelyn Szumski, Connor Wiles and Ava Amato—and noted a donation to Ruby Whiskers Animal Rescue from Lemont businessman Brad Grcevic of Edward Jones on behalf of the honorees.
Principal Eric Michaelsen reported on spring standardized testing and the April Institute Day, invited the board to Senior Awards Night scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the PAC, and noted graduation scheduled for Friday, May 16. Several staff members presented an MTSS update. Ken Parchem, Chief School Business Official, submitted financial reports through March 31, 2026 and discussed budgeting and planned summer construction. Superintendent Dr. Matt Maxwell highlighted retiree recognition from Institute Day, reminded of Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week (May 4–8), and provided updates on impact aid and the new Kasarda Enrollment Report.
