The Meridian Community Unit School District #223 Board of Education held a special meeting May 13, 2026. President John Smith called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Meridian District Board of Education Room at Meridian Junior High School; the Pledge of Allegiance was recited and members Behmer, Collins, Huber and Morrow were recorded as present.
On a motion by Huber, seconded by Behmer, the board approved the meeting agenda; the minutes state, "A motion was made by Huber and seconded by Behmer to approve the agenda. Ayes: All. The motion was carried." Later in the meeting the board voted, on motions recorded in the minutes, to move into closed session, reconvene in open session, and then adjourn. Each of those motions is recorded in the minutes as passing with the ayes listed as Behmer, Collins, Huber, Morrow and Smith.
