The Mount Vernon City Schools, District 80 Board of Education voted June 15 to adopt an amended budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year following a public hearing that drew no speakers.
President Kent Jackson opened the hearing after Superintendent Ryan Swan confirmed the amended budget had been available for the statutory 30-day inspection period. A motion by Ryan Burge, seconded by Brain Blok, to approve the amended budget was recorded. The minutes list the roll-call Ayes as Burge, Blok, Daniels, Flanigan, and Jackson and record the motion as carried. The board also fixed the district fiscal year as July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026 in the adopting resolution.
The resolution presented language setting the district’s fiscal year and adopting estimated fund amounts and expenditures for the year. No public comments were recorded during the hearing and the board closed the hearing before voting.
