At its April 20, 2026 regular meeting, the Mendota Township High School District 280 Board of Education approved a parking-lot contract and authorized multiple facilities bid solicitations.
The board awarded the parking-lot contract to Provantage Systems for $44,800 after a motion by Jim Lauer, seconded by Karly Brown, which passed unanimously (Yea 6, Nay 0, Absent 1). Separately, the board authorized administration to solicit bids for masonry repairs and for resinous flooring in the kitchen and locker-room areas; both motions were made by Jim Strouss and seconded by Jim Lauer and passed on roll call. The board discussed an Opterra amendment regarding tennis courts, turf replacement and track resurfacing presented by the Building and Grounds Committee but took no formal action on that amendment.
Board members said the solicitations will allow administration to gather contractor proposals and cost estimates before returning for approval. The approved parking-lot contract and the authorized bid processes advance the district's planned facility maintenance and improvements for summer and upcoming school years.
