Commission OKs conditional-use permit for new bed-and-breakfast near Chisholm Trail area

The Dickinson County Commission approved a conditional-use permit (CUP26-09) to allow a new bed-and-breakfast operated by Sunflower Property Rentals LLC at 7682500 Avenue.
Planning and zoning staff reported the planning commission unanimously recommended approval. As planning staff put it, "this is the planning commission and staff both are in support of this and, have, they're recommending unanimously to approve this request." Staff said notified neighbors raised no objections and that the use is similar to prior single-family bed-and-breakfast approvals where traffic impacts were minimal.
Commissioners closed the public hearing and voted to approve the permit. Planning staff said the county and planning commission will also review broader conditional-use categories in Article 21 to determine which uses might be handled administratively in the future, a review expected to follow the county's other zoning work.
