District highlights college‑and‑career framework, reports broad community partnerships

Michelle Papanicolaou, Director of Postsecondary Pathways and Career and Technical Education, presented the district’s Future Ready Framework and described multiple initiatives to help students identify career goals and pathways across the four years of high school.
"The framework was created to ensure every student graduates with both a clear career goal and a clear pathway to achieve it," Papanicolaou said. She highlighted programs such as Future Ready Fenton Day, career fairs, alumni panels, internship opportunities and a new video series showcasing academic pathways.
Papanicolaou said more than 600 students participated in the most recent career fair and that the district works with more than 350 community and business partners to provide mentorships, internships and classroom engagement. She invited the Board to upcoming events including an Internship Mentor Celebration on April 30 and an Incubator Pitch Night in May.
Board members thanked her for the focus on work‑based learning and supporting student exploration of post‑secondary options.
