Board renews AlphaBEST, ABM contracts and approves SRO intergovernmental agreement
Summary

At its April 21 meeting the North Shore SD 112 Board of Education approved routine service renewals and an intergovernmental agreement for a School Resource Officer (SRO).
The board approved a second extension with AlphaBEST to continue before- and after-school childcare through June 30, 2027; the extension includes a 3% tuition increase and continued discounts for siblings, military families, qualifying low-income families and staff. The board also approved a Second Amendment to the ABM custodial services agreement for 2026–27 that applies a 2.7% CPI-U increase.
Dr. Holly Colin presented the SRO IGA with the City of Highland Park, which updates training and data-reporting requirements. Under the IGA the district will reimburse the city for 75% of the SRO’s salary and benefits, 100% of overtime or special-event duty directly related to district activities, and 50% of certain SRO-related training costs. All motions were approved by roll-call votes of 7–0.
