Superintendent Dr. Tom Lind told the board on Feb. 25 that the district has initiated Phase 1 of a special education review that has included meetings with special education administration.
Dr. Lind described a schedule for Phase 2: "Phase 2 will have detailed numbers and staffing recommendations beginning in March with a completion in May." He said building-level staff meetings will follow and that special education administration will provide quarterly progress reports to the board on implementation of consultant recommendations. The minutes reflect a study and planning process; no formal policy action or budget allocation was recorded at this meeting.
