Board President Garrett announced a unanimous approval of a new contract for the district superintendent covering the 2026–2029 term. The board approved the recommendation after a motion by Member Oxley-Turner and a second by Member Rodriguez; roll-call votes recorded Ayes from Pinn, Garrett, Cutforth, Oxley-Turner, Rodriguez, Fracaro and Arvidson.
The vote took place during the April 14 regular meeting in the Kelvin Grove LRC. Superintendent Dr. Wilkey had presented updates earlier in the meeting, including the Evaluation Committee's work on a new evaluation plan for certified staff to be implemented in 2026–27. The board later entered closed session under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) to consider personnel matters and resumed open session at 10:05 p.m.
The motion to approve the contract carried with no recorded opposing votes or abstentions. The board made no additional public amendments to the contract terms on the record during the meeting.
