District staff report on roof work, curriculum review and NAEP testing at Richmond Grade School

Superintendent Dr. Tom Lind updated the board on an ongoing roof replacement project at Nippersink Middle School and said the district hopes "to have a full presentation in February" on the Special Education audit, according to the minutes. He also said he would share additional information about life safety bonding during the Buildings and Grounds committee update.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Patrick Enright highlighted work by the Literacy Team on a new reading curriculum and textbooks and noted a Report Card Committee examining standards‑based report cards at SGE and RGS. NMS Principal Mr. Creason discussed leadership team work on grading systems, upcoming play practice and the success of the junior high wrestling team. SGE Principal Mr. Pittman reported on IXL assessments and spelling bee winners. RGS Principal Mrs. Taubery informed the board that Richmond Grade School was chosen at random for the National Assessment of Educational Progress, and that "50 students were chosen to complete this test"; the minutes note that federal authorities will be the only party with access to the NAEP data. Richmond Grade School also hosted a Community Resource Fair on Jan. 22, 2026.
