Assistant Superintendent for Student Services Dr. Holly Colin presented a renewal of the Heart of the City (HOTC) agreement for 2026–27, which provides underserved students at Oak Terrace and Northwood with soccer‑based enrichment, leadership and wellness programming at no cost to families. "The estimated cost to the District for 2026‑27 will be approximately $57,324, with an additional estimated $5,600 in supplemental costs (e.g., meals, event experiences, and enrichment activities), based on projected participation," Dr. Colin said.
The Board approved the agreement by unanimous roll call vote after Ms. Itkin moved and Ms. Fink seconded. Administration described HOTC as a continuing community partner since 2023; the board’s approval authorizes the district to proceed with the program for the 2026–27 school year.
