Deputy Superintendent Dr. Monica Schroeder presented the Dual Language Task Force final report recommending the closure of Red Oak and the consolidation of the district’s K–5 dual language program to a single site at Oak Terrace beginning in the 2027–28 school year. "The task force has been working since the fall to guide the closure of Red Oak and transition the K‑5 dual language program to a single site at Oak Terrace, beginning in the 2027‑2028 school year," Dr. Schroeder told the Board.
The task force summarized work across student‑success, family‑engagement, and facilities/operations subcommittees. The student success subcommittee recommended Paridad to conduct a comprehensive program evaluation; the district expects a completed evaluation and report on Oct. 20, 2026. The family engagement team held events at Oak Terrace to help Red Oak families tour the building and provide feedback. The Board and administration said they generally supported moving forward with planning while awaiting the Paridad evaluation and additional data on staffing and professional development needs.
