Board approves Consolidated District Plan, Title I engagement policy and textbook recommendation

Superintendent Danielle Owens presented several curriculum and compliance items for board approval on April 27, acting for Assistant Superintendent Coussens-Martin where noted.
The board approved the 2026–2027 Consolidated District Plan and, separately, adopted a Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy. In the meeting materials Superintendent Owens stated the Title I policy is "intended to satisfy the parent and family engagement requirements applicable to Title I, Part A under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)." The board also approved the purchase of one English department book for the 2026–27 school year.
Officials said the Consolidated Plan and Title I policy align with federal requirements and local curriculum goals; the approvals allow staff to move forward with implementation and parent engagement activities for the coming year.
