Pekin CSD 303 hears solar plan the district says will cut energy costs by half

He also said the project would yield a first-year estimated savings of $275,000 and a 25-year savings estimate of $9,485,041. The presentation included plans for additional LED lighting upgrades and roof work in several buildings.
The board did not take a vote on the solar project during the meeting. The presentation was delivered as part of the District Energy update and was framed by superintendent and facilities priorities in the board packet. Detailed financing documents, timing and any required external approvals were not specified during the presentation.
