Rantoul Schools reports iReady reading gains; district sets 70% growth goal and eyes 80% for next year

District curriculum leaders Jaime Roundtree and Dana Kistler Ramey presented an update on the K–5 literacy framework and winter iReady benchmark results, reporting measurable growth compared with the 2024–25 school year. The update outlined five pillars—K–5 structure, literacy framework, data and assessment, professional learning, reporting and communication—and noted gains in both bilingual and monolingual programs.
During questions, administrators confirmed last year's goal "was 50% last year" and said the board's current goal is 70% growth; Mr. Roundtree said leadership hopes to reach 80% next year. The district indicated it is working with an external partner, Focus Schools, for leadership and instructional training to continue that progress.
