The Rantoul City Schools #137 Board of Education unanimously approved a consent agenda on Feb. 19 that included open and closed meeting minutes, bills and treasurer's reports, the personnel report and a set of policy updates drawn from PRESS Issue 120.
The board also approved the district's annual academic calendar, which adds a full-week Fall Break in October after a staff survey in which 70% of respondents favored trying the week. Niki Pettit moved to approve the consent agenda and Robin Vaughn seconded; the motion carried 7–0. Board approval included the stipulation that new hires comply with Illinois statutes and RCS procedures.
