The Westchester SD 92-5 Board approved its proposed summer construction plan June 4, voting unanimously to move forward on repairs and upgrades across district sites. During discussion Mr. Gress told the board that "some of the projects should not be postponed due to safety," and he specifically characterized the WPS kitchen update as discretionary.
Board members discussed scheduling and scope, with Member TiShaunda McPherson asking whether replacing only portions of carpet could be considered rather than the full scope presented. The board agreed to approve the plan while retaining the option to postpone the WPS kitchen update if budget or timing concerns emerge during the fiscal year.
